When Ginggaanbai was given the brief to create a joyful retreat for the family’s daughter and their four-legged companions, the goal was clear: to craft a place that completes happiness and meaningful moments. Because this project was built on an empty plot of land, the garden was never intended to serve as a permanent residence. Instead, it was envisioned as an oasis of relaxation for weekends and long holidays, with functionality placed at the heart of the design. The entire space was divided into two main sections, with a pair of shelters connected through a beautifully designed garden. The first shelter was created as a gathering space for the young daughter and her friends,a cozy living room fully equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, and bathroom. All furniture was chosen to be freestanding, allowing flexible arrangements that adapt to different needs, creating a relaxed, informal atmosphere that supports both leisure and learning. The second shelter became the project’s highlight: a playful world designed especially for the dogs. Inside, a small custom-made door allows them to move in and out freely. A sliding partition makes it possible to separate the people’s lounge area from the dogs’ sleeping zone, while still allowing them to roam freely and play with their owners whenever desired. For the landscape, Ginggaanbai’s designers chose large paving slabs to form a seamless, stable pathway, ensuring that the dogs can run safely and comfortably. Every plant selected for the garden was carefully considered to be non-toxic and safe for pets, reflecting the meticulous attention given to every detail. In terms of color, neutral tones of gray and beige were chosen to create a setting that feels luxurious yet warm and calming, much like taking a break from the bustle of the city. The palette also connects with the owner’s love of horseback riding, an activity that evokes a sense of serenity and freedom. This garden is therefore more than just a green space. It is a place built on love and understanding, a hub of shared activities where every member of the family, both people and pets, can spend meaningful time together in happiness and harmony.
