สวนหลังบ้านเป็นพื้นที่ที่สำคัญไม่แพ้กับห้องใดๆ ในบ้าน เพราะเป็นที่ที่ให้คุณได้พักผ่อนและสัมผัสกับธรรมชาติอย่างแท้จริง สำหรับ Station of Calm #gingsite2019 นี้ กิ่งก้านใบได้รับโจทย์ให้เปลี่ยนพื้นที่สวนหลังบ้านจากเดิมที่เป็นท้องร่องให้กลายเป็นสวนที่เป็นมากกว่าแค่พื้นที่เขียวขจี แต่เป็นพื้นที่ที่รองรับการพักผ่อนและการออกกำลังกายได้อย่างลงตัว เนื่องจากเจ้าของสวนให้ความสำคัญกับสุขภาพทั้งทางกายและใจ เป้าหมายของการออกแบบสวนนี้จึงเป็นการเปลี่ยนสวนหลังบ้านที่มีท้องร่องเดิมให้เป็นสวนเพื่อพักผ่อนที่สามารถดูแลได้ง่าย และยังเป็นพื้นที่ที่สามารถใช้วิ่งออกกำลังกายได้จริง โดยต้องทำให้สวนนี้ร่มรื่นและให้ความรู้สึกผ่อนคลายมากขึ้นสำหรับทุกคนในครอบครัว แนวคิดหลักในการออกแบบสวนนี้คือการกระจายตัวของพื้นที่ใช้งาน (hardscape) อย่างแนบเนียนทั่วทั้งสวน โดยต้องให้รักษาง่าย ลดภาระในการดูแล กิ่งก้านใบจัดวางผังให้มีความลื่นไหลและเชื่อมต่อกัน เพิ่มความรู้สึกโปร่ง สบาย จูงใจให้ออกไปใช้งาน และทำให้ทุกมุมของสวนสามารถเข้าถึงได้ง่าย

เนื่องจากต้องการให้มีความต่อเนื่อง นักออกแบบเลือกกำหนดทิศทางการใช้งานของสวนให้มีความไหลลื่น (flow) บันไดจากบ้านสู่สวน: ได้รับการออกแบบใหม่เพื่อให้การเข้าถึงจากบ้านลงสู่สวนมีความสะดวกและคล่องตัวมากที่สุด และบันไดมีขนาดที่กว้างพอสำหรับสมาชิกในครอบครัวทุกคน ในส่วนของพื้นที่ Welcome Patio กิ่งก้านใบเลือกใช้ พื้น Cobble stone และตกแต่งให้เข้ากับ Shelter ที่ตั้งอยู่ในสวน ทำให้เกิดความรู้สึกที่ดีเมื่อเดินในสวน Planter ตกแต่ง ถูกวางไว้ด้านหน้าศาลาและปลายสุดของทางวิ่ง (jogging track)เพื่อให้ความรู้สึกของการเดินทางที่ต่อเนื่องและเป็นไปในทิศทางเดียวกัน และใช้ผิวพ่น texture บน Planter เพื่อสร้างความน่าสนใจและเพิ่มลูกเล่น

Shelter ของสวนเป็นศาลาที่มีหลังคาคลุมและร่มรื่นตลอดวันด้วยการวางต้นไม้ในตำแหน่งที่ช่วยบังแสงแดด ทำให้เป็นสถานที่ที่เหมาะสำหรับการพักผ่อนและทำกิจกรรมในระหว่างวันได้ทั้งวัน โดยศาลาถูกวางในตำแหน่งที่โดดเด่นและเข้าถึงง่าย นอกจากนี้ยังทำหน้าที่บังสายตา ไม่ให้ผู้ใช้งานสวนมองไปยังอาคารอื่นๆ ที่อยู่ข้างเคียง จุดเด่นพิเศษของสวนนี้คือ Jogging Track ที่ทำด้วยพื้นผิว Asphalt ออกแบบให้เป็นทางเดินและทางวิ่งที่สามารถวนรอบสวนได้ เหมาะสำหรับการออกกำลังกายและการเดินเล่นแบบนับรอบได้ เพิ่มความสมบูรณ์และความสะดวกในการใช้งานสวนด้วย Garden Gate หรือประตูสวน จัดการขอบเขตของสัตว์เลี้ยง ทำให้เจ้าของสามารถควบคุมการเข้าออกของสัตว์เลี้ยงได้ตามต้องการ เพิ่มความเป็นสัดส่วนและความเป็นระเบียบให้กับสวน

ลูกเล่นพิเศษของสวนนี้คือมีการแทรกเส้นโค้งในงานออกแบบเพื่อให้สวนดูนุ่มนวลและมีชีวิตชีวามากขึ้น มีการติดตั้งราวกันตก ชุดที่นั่งใน Shelter และ Planter ที่ตั้งไว้ในตำแหน่งสำคัญต่างๆ เพื่อสร้างมิติให้กับพื้นที่ อีกทั้งยังมี Platform ที่เป็น Step และกรอบเหล็กของสนามหญ้าเพื่อเพิ่มความน่าสนใจ ความพิเศษเล็กๆ ที่ซ่อนไว้แต่ช่วยให้ใช้งานสวนได้ตลอดเวลาอย่างแท้จริงคือมีการติดตั้งอุปกรณ์เครื่องไล่ยุงไว้ใต้ Coffee table ที่มี Top ไม้สักบางจุดเจาะบล็อกออกมาอย่างแนบเนียน สามารถเปิดเพื่อหยิบเครื่องไล่ยุงหรือเก็บของได้อย่างสะดวกสบาย Station of Calm นี้มีความสมบูรณ์แบบและอ่อนโยนมากขึ้นเมื่อมีการจัดแสงสว่างให้สวยงามและทั่วถึง โดยการติดตั้ง post top ที่กระจายวางอย่างเหมาะสม ทำให้สามารถใช้สวนได้เต็มที่ตลอดทั้งวันและกลางคืน เพิ่มทั้งความปลอดภัยและขยายช่วงเวลาในการใช้งานสวนให้มากยิ่งขึ้น สวน Station of Calm" ของกิ่งก้านใบนี้ จึงตอบโจทย์ทั้งในแง่ของการพักผ่อนและการออกกำลังกายอย่างลงตัว เป็นการสร้างสรรค์พื้นที่ที่ไม่เพียงแค่สวยงาม แต่ยังส่งเสริมสุขภาพและความเป็นอยู่ที่ดีของผู้ใช้งานอย่างแท้จริง

The backyard is just as important as any room in the house because it's a place where you can truly relax and connect with nature. For the "Station of Calm", #gingsite2019 Ginggaanbai was tasked with transforming the backyard, originally an orchard, into a garden that is more than just green space. It needed to be a perfect area for both relaxation and exercise. Since the garden's owner values both physical and mental health, the goal of this design was to convert the backyard, which used to have orchard furrows, into a relaxing, easy-to-maintain garden that also serves as a functional space for jogging. The garden should feel more shaded and relaxing for everyone in the family. The main concept behind this garden design is the seamless distribution of hardscape areas throughout the garden, aiming to make it easy to maintain while reducing upkeep efforts. Ginggaanbai planned the layout to be smooth and interconnected, creating a feeling of openness that encourages usage and ensures every corner of the garden is easily accessible. To ensure continuity, the designers chose to give the garden a flowing layout. The steps leading from the house to the garden were redesigned for easier and more flexible access, with the steps wide enough to accommodate all family members. For the Welcome Patio area, Ginggaanbai chose cobblestone flooring and decorations that complement the shelter in the garden, creating a pleasant atmosphere as you walk through the garden. Decorative planters are placed in front of the pavilion and at the end of the jogging track to give a sense of continuity and direction. Textured finishes on the planters add interest and a playful touch. The garden shelter is a pavilion with a roof that provides shade throughout the day, thanks to strategically placed trees that block sunlight. This makes it an ideal spot for relaxation and daytime activities. The pavilion is positioned prominently and is easily accessible. It also serves as a screen to block the view of adjacent buildings, ensuring privacy. A standout feature of this garden is the jogging track, made with an asphalt surface designed to loop around the garden, perfect for exercise and leisurely walks that can be tracked by laps. The garden is further enhanced with a garden gate, which helps manage the boundaries for pets, allowing the owner to control pet access as needed, adding privacy and orderliness to the garden. A special design element in this garden is the use of curves to create a softer and more lively appearance. Handrails, seating in the shelter, and strategically placed planters add depth to the space. There are also step platforms and metal frames for the lawn area to enhance visual interest. A small but clever feature that allows for true year-round use of the garden is the installation of mosquito repellents underneath the coffee table, with a teak wood top that cleverly conceals storage spaces where the repellents or other items can be conveniently stored and accessed. The "Station of Calm" is made even more perfect and gentle with beautifully arranged lighting. Properly placed post-top lights ensure that adults in the house can fully enjoy the garden throughout the day and night, enhancing safety and extending the hours of garden use. This "Station of Calm" is designed to perfectly meet the needs of both relaxation and exercise, creating a space that is not only beautiful but also promotes health and well-being for its users.
