At the heart of this design lies the garden owner’s desire for a space that encourages connection among family members while also offering a place for peaceful retreat, effortless upkeep, and practical use for everyday living. Named after its core concept, The Peaceable Breeze is more than a poetic title; it defines the flow of the entire design. Every part of the garden was thoughtfully crafted to connect interior and exterior spaces seamlessly, like a breeze that moves effortlessly, leaving no trace. The choice of deep, muted tones—shades of grey and black—helps create a quiet, grounding atmosphere that lets the beauty of nature take center stage. Each material was selected with precision to balance simplicity, elegance, and harmony with the surrounding environment. The garden is divided into two primary zones. The first is the terrace on the ground floor—a versatile gathering space for the whole family. Designed to accommodate various uses, this area supports everything from casual lounging and shared activities to quiet moments of rest. A gently flowing waterfall adds freshness to the senses, both visually and aurally. Ginggaanbai selected lounge furniture in grey tones paired with natural wood textures to evoke a sense of warmth and welcome—ideal for moments of shared connection, or simply to enjoy peace and presence. Vertical slatted panels serve as both a beautiful backdrop and a subtle screen that softens sightlines, enhancing privacy without compromising openness. One of the garden’s highlights lies on the third floor: a private retreat designed exclusively for the garden owner. This upper-level corner serves as a small personal sanctuary—perfect for escaping the noise of the day, enjoying the garden from above, or sipping a quiet glass of wine at sunset. The material palette and color tones here were chosen to reflect a refined sense of luxury while staying true to the overall harmony and serenity of the space. At the heart of this project, Ginggaanbai placed great importance on blending natural textures and patterns with architectural lines in a way that feels effortless yet intentional. This thoughtful juxtaposition softens the geometry of the space, infusing it with life and emotion. Wood-grain porcelain tiles are laid in alternating sizes to mimic the rhythm of wind passing through, while the waterfall wall is clad in veined stone-patterned tiles that play with shadow and light throughout the day, adding dimension and movement to the scene.
