"Into the Wood" originated from the homeowner's desire to transform the underutilized lawn surrounding their house into a functional space for family relaxation. This vision sought to create a serene, tranquil atmosphere with usability in every corner. The design concept drew inspiration from the natural beauty of the woods, seamlessly blended with the simplicity of minimal modern aesthetics. By incorporating elements of the homeowner’s favorite modern cottage style, Ginggaanbai delivered a harmonious design that balances elegance and practicality. With a commitment to functionality, Ginggaanbai began the design with a Garden Patio, welcoming visitors from the driveway. This initial space creates an impressive focal point, offering an overview of the garden before entering the house. It serves as a space for homeowners and guests to appreciate the garden’s beauty while glimpsing into its layered, inviting corners, encouraging exploration of the modern woodland retreat. As visitors step into the garden, they encounter stepping stones meticulously placed in an alternating rhythm, guiding them toward the Pavilion. The Garden Swing, a carefully designed focal point, is surrounded by fragrant Orange Jasmine and Bauhinia trees, enhancing the peaceful ambiance. Equipped with soft cushions and a supportive backrest, it’s perfect for sitting, relaxing, or reclining. The Pavilion, situated in a shaded area, remains cool throughout the day and connects seamlessly to the home office. Its elevated roof and single-wall design open up panoramic views of the garden. Horizontal lines on the walls and ceiling evoke a calming presence, creating a serene atmosphere ideal for both relaxation and productivity. Ginggaanbai designed the Built-in Bench to blend seamlessly with the Pavilion. Its oversized, plush cushions provide ultimate comfort, offering a retreat amidst nature on even the busiest days. The bench includes built-in drainage for rainy days and a concealed electrical outlet for charging devices, making it suitable for working outdoors. The addition of floodlights accentuates the textured wall, enriching the surrounding ambiance. To further enhance the space, a carved stone fountain with a timer-operated water feature was thoughtfully placed between the Garden Swing and the Built-in Bench, creating a harmonious rhythm. The fountain’s concealed electrical and pump systems ensure a seamless integration with the garden’s design. Ginggaanbai infused charm into Into the Wood by choosing a neutral palette for the hardscape, serving as a canvas for the vibrant greenery of shrubs and trees. A special touch comes in the form of hidden features, including a discreet compartment for storing keys and electrical outlets, cleverly integrated without disrupting the garden’s aesthetics. "Into the Wood" is more than a garden; it’s a sanctuary for family happiness. Whether seated in any corner, Ginggaanbai ensures that everyone can experience the garden's intricate charm, crafted to evoke joy and provide a shared space for precious family moments.
